Our mission:   To enhance public awareness and to generate resources to enrich educational, vocational, and social opportunities for children with disabilities.

Our Objectives:

The Bi-County Foundation seeks contributions from business and individuals who realize that helping our children succeed is the best way to guarantee our communities will grow and prosper.

Specifically, your contributions will be targeted at:

Mini-Grants will be awarded to special education professionals, children with disabilities and organizations that support children with disabilities.  Grants will be issued to enrich the lives and broaden the experiences of special children.

Transition to employment, or college/vocational school.  Funds will provide employment training or scholarships to attend college or vocational school.

Adaptive equipment/assistive technology devices.  Expensive and technologically advanced equipment will be made available so that students can physically access and then communicate effectively in the school, community and workplace.

Who will benefit from contributions?

Established in 1969, Bi-County Special Education Cooperative is a collaborative effort among twelve public school districts in Whiteside and Carroll County Illinois that provides educational services for children ages three to twenty-one with disabilities including the following:  Autism and other Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive Disability, Deafness, Deaf-Blindness, Developmental Delay, Emotional Disability, Hearing Impairment, Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impairment,   Specific Learning Disability, Speech or Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Visual Impairment.

Bi-County's geographic boundaries are defined by those of its member school districts:  Erie #1, River Bend #2, Prophetstown/Lyndon/Tampico #3, Sterling #5, Morrison #6, East Coloma #12, Rock Falls Elementary #13, Riverdale #14, Montmorency #145, Rock Falls High School #301, Eastland #308, Chadwick/Milledgeville #399.

Your contribution to the Bi-County Cooperative Foundation will help us realize the objectives described above thereby enriching the community in which we all live.  The Bi-County Cooperative Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.  All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
